Hi  All

The worship song  "Raise a Hallelujah" whilst not taken from any particular bible verse is nonetheless inspiring and encourages us to Praise God.which is a major theme throughout the bible. The word Hallelujah is taken from a combination of two  Hebrew words "Hallelu"

meaning "praise you all," and "Yah” which is a shortened version of the word Yahweh so when put together we get “Praise The Lord”,which is used often in the bible for example “Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name”.(Hebrews 13:15) and LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago(Isaiah 25:1)also Psalm 150 is known as a Psalm of Praise. The lyrics remind us that no matter what we are facing, we can raise a Hallelujah in the presence of our enemies and watch the darkness flee. We can sing louder and louder, and our praises will roar. We can have hope that death is defeated and the King is alive. Amen !
Be Blessed and Encouraged

Raise a Hallelujah

16 But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning, For You have been my stronghold And a refuge in the day of my distress.   17 O my strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.

(Psalm 59:16-17)

In life we all go through “storms”,and times when everything seems to come against us and we can't seem to understand why but that is when we need to trust God and praise Him, that is when we need “Raise a Hallelujah”. It is so easy to praise God when everything is going well, but when it comes to testing times it can be more difficult, but that is when we should praise Him. We were never promised an easy life as Jesus tells us “in this world there will be troubles but take courage as I have overcome the world”(John 16:33). We have a God that is bigger than any issue we may face and through Jesus' blood we already have victory. In times of trouble, praising God redirects attention from problems to the greatness and goodness of God, reminding us of His power and love. Next time we face a trial lets lift our praises up to Him and "watch the darkness flee” as the song says:-

“I raise a hallelujah with everything inside of me

I raise a hallelujah I will watch the darkness flee”
