Hi All

Prayer if we are honest can be something we can all struggle with at times, we can become distracted or unable to think of anything to say, but before coming to prayer we can draw encouragement from how our prayers have been answered in the past and by reading some of Jesus prayers in the bible for example in John 17 where Jesus prayed to God toward the end of His earthly ministry. We all have our own way of approaching God when it comes to our prayer life, some may go boldly before God, some may be more reserved, we may have long drawn out prayers or we may have short sharp to the point prayers,but no matter how we pray it must be with passion and with the correct heart, one where our requests are in line with God's plans for our lives(Thy Kingdom come,Thy will be done Matthew 6:10), because as it tells us in the book of 1 John “if we ask anything in His will he does hear us”(1 John 5:14).

Be Blessed and Encouraged

Pray from The Heart

In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

(Romans 8:26)

When we are alone with God in our prayer time it is important that we pray with integrity and sincerity. As you probably know, prayers that get results don't always have to be long, sometimes they are pointed and powerful,asked with intensity.They are prayers like that of the publican(Tax Collector)"God be merciful to me a sinner"(Luke 18:13). These fervent prayers are like the one Simon Peter prayed while sinking in the sea"Lord save me” !(Mathew 14:30). They are prayers like Jacob's "I will not let you go until you bless me"(Genesis 32:26).It is not the length of our prayers that matters to God, but how we pray is what makes them effective.It is not the prayers that come from our heads,but the prayers that spring from our heart that are effective. When we approach God we should do so with the correct motives and pray with passion,sincerity and intensity. Our “words” are just “words” unless we pray with a passion and burning desire to connect with God that comes from our hearts(Luke 24:32)
