The Daily Nugget
Hi All
Today we live in a world full of selfishness, where lawlessness and greed abound and God is being removed from everything and we can sometimes wonder what is going on but that is when we need to stand on the promises of God. The promises God gives to all believers include
salvation, eternal life, forgiveness, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and spiritual blessings like peace and comfort. God also promises to provide for physical needs, offer guidance, deliver from trouble, and strengthen believers in trials. These promises are rooted in God's faithfulness and found in Jesus Christ, who secures them for all who believe. When God says something or makes a promise …..about forgiveness, eternal life, grace and mercy, His love , His provision for our needs…..those words are trustworthy. That is why we are told in proverbs to " Trust in the Lord with all your heart” and lean not on your own understanding”(Proverbs 3:5).In these troubled times, trust in the promises of God…He WILL keep every promise He has ever made.
Be Blessed and Encouraged
Stand On The Promises of God
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.
(Psalm 19:7-9, NASB)
For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.
(2 Corinthians 1:20,)
In current times politicians are coming under more and more scrutiny,as they always seem to be making promises they can't keep, because politicians can promise all the changes the people are demanding but at the end of the day only parliament can authorize any proposed change.
Not keeping a promise that can be kept is bad , but making a promise that can't be kept is maybe worse. This is true for us all not just politicians, in Ecclesiastes 5:5 Solomon wrote " Better not to vow than to vow and not pay". As believers our God differs on both counts as He is capable of making any promise and keeping it,which reflects His omnipotence or power. He is also incapable of making a promise and not keeping it which is a reflection of His never changing character. Psalm 19:7-9 tells us God's words are always true and always trustworthy and 1Corinthians 1:9 states”God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord”. God promises to strengthen us, take care of all our needs,to give us rest,to answer our prayers,to work everything out for our good,to be with us,to protect us and to free us from sin…and He will .
