Hi All
Ephesians 1:4 tells us “He(God) chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.For a believer being chosen by God means that we have been selected by God before the creation of the world through His sovereign grace, it is not because we are superior to others NO we are called to serve others. As Jesus Himself said "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant... For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve."(Mark10:43-45).Although God has chosen us and wants us in His family, He also gave us freewill so we still have to choose to accept His invitation and place our trust in The Lord Jesus !
Be Blessed And Encouraged
Chosen By God
You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
(John 15:16)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
(1 Peter 2:9)
As believers' scripture tells us we are “chosen by God”, but why would our Creator and Lord choose any of us as we are all imperfect sinners who have fallen short ?(Romans 3:23). By choosing us God is displaying His love and grace so that through us He may be glorified. When we accept the invitation to enter the family of God,scripture tells us that “the old has gone and the new is here”(2 Corinthians 5:17) meaning we become new creations, more Christlike in what we do and what we say. In other words God transforms us and moulds us into what He wants us to be.
Paul describes what God expects from His chosen people in their daily lives stating, “So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience”(Colossians 3:12).
As our transformation evolves the “Holy Spirit” will help us to be more Christlike,as we will become more willing to serve and help others,to forgive those who hurt us and to love the unlovable,all of which in the natural would be impossible, but we have a God who deals in the supernatural and through Him ALL things are possible(Matthew 19:26).
